Challenge
We collaborated with architects London Atelier to create a new exhibition celebrating fashion and gardens through the ages at the Garden Museum, Lambeth. The first of its kind, the exhibition explores the relationship between fashion and garden design from the Elizabethan period all the way through to the contemporary styles of London Fashion Week.
Solution
We designed the graphic material for the exhibition, including wall panels, caption boards and vinyl lettering. Our approach was inspired by late 19th-century developments in colour theory and how they influenced both garden and fashion design. We used Doves Type as the primary typeface because of its strong English heritage and unique character (and also a fascinating back story), reflective of the late Victorian/Edwardian period.
Results
The exhibition drew much media attention. Watch the BBC interview with the exhibition curator, Nicola Shulman, and to see the exhibition under construction.
